If you’re currently wondering about whether or not it is possible to add sound to your Canva videos, the good news is that it is possible to add music or even a voiceover to all of your videos. 

Keep in mind that even though adding audio to your Canva video’s is relatively easy, it’s important to keep in mind that if you are going to be planning any of your video designs on a partner website through the Canva Button, then you won’t be able to add audio to your Canva videos via the following method below.

Adding audio to Canva videos: Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Create your original Canva video by using one of the supported templates within the Canva application.
2. When you have finished and completed your video within Canva, next it will be time to add your chosen audio! Head over to the Audio tab located on the side or bottom panel of Canva (depending on whether you’re using the phone interface or desktop interface).
3. Once you have selected the Audio tab, you will then be provided with an on-screen dropdown list with a variety of audio tracks that are free for you to use. There will also be a variety of premium tracks available to you, although you will need to have signed up for Canva’s premium subscription in order to access these.
4. When you’ve found your chosen audio track and are ready to then add it to your Canva video, all you will need to do is select it, and Canva will then automatically proceed to add the audio to your chosen Canva video!

 

As a side note, as soon as the track has been added to your Canva video, then you’ll likely notice that it isn’t quite in sync with the content within your video. So, in order to make the audio and the content of your Canva video as cohesive as possible, you will likely need to trim the audio.

In order to do this, all you will need to do is press on the title of your Canva video located on the bottom of the Canva editor tool, and then proceed to drag the colored section of the Canva video directly along the soundbar so that you can customize the track so start at the point of the video where you want. 

In addition to adjusting the track to start and stop at your desired points of the Canva video, you will also have the option of adjusting the sound levels of the audio track.

If you play through your Canva video with the added track and find that it is too loud or quiet, then you can then proceed to adjust it in accordance with your preferences.

Simply press on the speaker icon located in the editor toolbar, and then proceed to adjust the volume to either higher or lower – you can even adjust the sound so that it gets quiet or louder in certain parts of the Canva video, too!

Additionally, it is also worth noting that certain elements of a Canva video may affect how long a track will play.

A standard Canva video will allow a track to run for 5 seconds, however, if there are any additional elements such as a GIF or sticker included in the Canva video, then there is a chance that these types of elements will interfere with the audio track and cause it to stop sooner than you may like. 

Can you add voice over to Canva?

Just like the way it is possible to add an audio track or music to Canva videos, it is also possible to add a voice-over! Here’s how to do it:

1. The first thing that you will need to do is create your Canva video! Open up the app and select one of the supported templates suitable for audio, and then create your video. You can include a variety of different elements to your Canva video, including GIFs, stickers, text, and more – just explore the Canva editor tool!

2. After you have created your video in Canva, the next step will be to record your voiceover in accordance with the content of your Canva video. To do this, you can use a microphone hooked into your Mac or PC, or alternatively, you could also use your smartphone.

When you have finished recording, make sure that you are saving the file as an mp4, otherwise, it will not be a compatible format suitable for Canva.

However, if you find that you are unable to save your voiceover recording as an mp4 recording, it’s not the end of the world – you will just have to use a file converter (which you can find on Google) which will then be able to convert the recording into an mp4 file.

3. Once you have done this, the next step will be to upload your voiceover to Canva! In the Canva editor, click on Upload Media and then proceed to upload your voiceover that you have recorded for your Canva video.

4. Once the voiceover recording has been uploaded to your video, you will then need to begin editing and adjusting the track (or tracks)  to fit in with your Canva video. By clicking the title on the bottom, you will be able to adjust the sections of the track to fit in with your video and make sure that everything is cohesive and in sync with each other.

5. The next thing that you can do is decide how loud you want your audio voiceover track to be. Press on the speaker icon located in the editor toolbar, and proceed to then toggle the sound in line with your preferences. 

6. Last but not least, you will also need to hide the file that you have uploaded into your Canva video, as it can leave a black rectangle in the corner. All you will need to do is double-tap the black rectangle, and then select the transparency option in the editor.
