To cut a long story short, there are a lot of copyright laws that you need to make yourself aware of, because the last thing that you want to happen while you are trying to make money, is to find yourself having to cash out on a large infringement lawsuit! So, what are the rules when it comes to selling designs that you have made in Canva?

However, it is possible to sell content that has been made via Canva if the design is entirely original. This means that, if you were to create your very own custom design, you would not be violating Canva’s copyright policy if you were to then go ahead and monetize the design.

The only way that you could do this is to completely disregard all of the templates offered by Canva, and instead head over to the “blank slate” section, in which you would then be able to create your own content.

By using the blank slate option to create your content, you would not have changed or utilized any templates already made by Canva, which means that all of the content created would be considered to be completely original work. Thanks to that, it means that you then proceed to sell it if you so wished to

When it comes to selling Canva designs, the good news is that it is possible to sell your own designs, so long as you have abided by Canva’s copyright policy.

In order to ensure that you do not violate any of Canva’s terms of service, you will need to make sure that your designs are 100% original.

So, in other words, while you might be able to use Canva’s templates for personal and commercial use, if you plan on monetizing any of your designs, you are not going to be able to use any of Canva’s templates during the design process.
